Foundations for Indigenous Health (FISH)
Mark Anderson is a Whadjela (white fella) and has worked across Western Australia for over 40 years, 10 years in the Kimberley and Pilbara Regions. He is the CEO of Foundation for Indigenous Sustainable Health (FISH) focussed on improving the social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and breaking intergenerational cycles of trauma, poverty and engagement in the justice system. Mark has and continues to sit on regional, state and national boards contributing to the economic, structural, environmental, health, medical technologies and social sectors. He has worked in the corporate, community sector and film industry for over 40 years in senior management and has overseen multi-million-dollar capital raising and $24M+ projects. He runs professional, team and organisational development with the health, justice, corporate (local, state, national and international), government (both state and national), education, training and community sectors. This has involved working directly with Aboriginal Trainees in the Kimberley through to senior executives of national and international corporations, including guest lecturing at Universities. Mark has and continues to sit on a range of government and non-government advisory and funding boards and is a Director of a majority owned national Aboriginal Company. In the past Mark has been on the Judging Panel for the Prime Minister’s Community Business Partnership Awards and for several years Chaired the Annual United Nations Australia (WA) Judging Panel for Human Rights Award. Mark has a Bachelor of Social Science, is in the final year of his Masters at UWA and is an Internationally Accredited Partnership Broker. He is passionate about human rights and committed to structural reform where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have a voice and are drivers of their own destiny as leading contributors in the economy and to the whole community in connecting people to caring for each other and caring for country.
