Russell Logan

Russell Logan has worked for over 40 years in Indigenous employment, cultural diversity, community housing organisations, governance, land management and conservation. His expertise lies in the development, implementation and facilitation of cultural awareness and competency training and mentoring programs across Australia, both regionally and remotely, working with Aboriginal organisations, the corporate sector, not-for-profits, Federal and State government, non-government agencies, recruitment and employment services, and registered training organisations.

Russell is the Co-Owner and CEO of Coodjingburra HOME (Helping Our Mob Everywhere) Aboriginal Community Housing Company, an NRSCH accredited provider and NSW AHO Community Housing Provider, with a footprint from the Tweed to Maclean.

He has provided Indigenous employment and professional mentoring through CHIA NSW and Diversity Dimensions, working nationally with Woolworths and supporting over 5,000 First Nations team members over the past six years. He is currently working across the North Queensland Woolworths clusters.

Russell also sits on the Board of Tweed Escapes River Cruise Company, delivering Indigenous cultural experiences and managing deckhand training courses for youth at risk. These programs, Giving Youth A Story, are facilitated in partnership with Tribal Warrior.

A descendant of the Traditional Owners of the Coodjingburra Clan, south of the mighty Tweed River of the Bundjalung Nation, Russell is a proud father of six children aged 17 to 33 and currently resides in Tenterfield.

He is passionate about workforce training and development and actively contributes both nationally and locally. Russell is a former Chair and Board Member of the Tweed Aboriginal Co-operative and Minjungbal Aboriginal Museum Trading Company, a Committee Member on the Morley Inquiry into the NSW Aboriginal Lands Act, and a former Chair and Board Member of the Tweed Byron Local Aboriginal Land Council (2001–2008).

Russell has been recognised with the NSW Premier’s Award for Indigenous Excellence for the creation of an Aboriginal Employment Strategy for NSW Housing.
